Osa Peninsula Interior Full Day Trek with Leader - 12 to 36 kilometer guided trek depending on transportation option chosen. Our funky farm cabin sits on the top of the OSA ridge at approximately 332 meters above sea level connecting the forest of Corcovado National Park with Punta Matapalo where jungle meets the great Pacific ocean. You will trek with an escort into the interior of the Osa and then back. Visitors have access to 267 hectares or 675 acres of mountainous terrain. There are a number of trails on the property for exploring.
Pristine OSA peninsula, mother nature at her finest. Bring your cameras, video y audio equipment. Capture and share the experience. Bring your own food but remember nothing gets left on the farm. Please carry out what you carry in. Only leave footprints. Mind blowing adventure into the Osa peninsula interior.
Remember to request a pipa (coconut) and try drinking the fresh mountain water while being mesmerized by the spectacular views. Please note that you must be at Chosa Manglar Nature Retreat in Puerto Jimenez, beside the airport by 7am the day of your visit otherwise we cannot guarantee same day departure. Wear good hiking shoes or boots. Take water & food. Bring back all waste material. Leave only footprints.

Overnight Rainforest Camping Excursion with leader to the center of the Osa Peninsula
Trek to the Osa Interior to Chimpol Reserve in Rio Nuevo Arriba and spend the night camping. This is an escorted two day, 1 night river and mountain trek between 6 & 18 kilometers or 4 & 11 miles each way dependent on transportation options chosen by campers. You will trek in crossing Rio Nuevo numerous times for about 9 kms before starting an uphill climb to the summit (lookout point or mirador) at 332 meters of elevation. Toilets and showers available onsite.
The reserve and mirador both offer spectacular views of Corcovado National Park, the Pacific Ocean, the Osa Peninsula forest reserve & the Golfo Dulce marine reserve. There are a number of internal trails located within Reserva Chimpol. Animal sightings are numerous and include Toucans, Scarlet Macaws, many other species of birds, reptiles, butterflies, all 4 species of monkey, armadillos, anteaters and sloths to name a few. One of the internal trails has Jaguar clawings on some of the trees, so keep your eyes peeled.
Choose your campsite, set up your gear and get settled in for some excellent star gazing. Get up early and hike some trails. Make sure to cool off in the river during the return trek. Wear good hiking shoes or boots. Take water & food. Bring back all waste material. Leave only footprints.
