1. La Palapa Hut Nature Hostel
we're happy you dropped by. sit down and relax, take a load off. it's easy to fall into a tropical rhythm in a place where thatched-roof dwellings like chozas, ranchos & palapas still exist. they are an essential ingredient of the historical & contemporary Osa lifestyle. they are simplicity, functionality, and beauty all rolled into a really fine piece of work. you'll notice the tropical flavor of la palapa hut as soon as you enter.
spending time inside palapas, chozas, ranchos, and tents help reduce stress. nature has a great way of doing that. at la palapa hut, we invite you to enjoy the abundance of flora and fauna. we charge a couple of bucks more than an average small hostel on a noisy street in the center of town with no garden but believe us when we say, you really should treat yourself to a super tropical experience for such a great price.
extraordinary flora and fauna can be found throughout the property. look for the crocodile, photograph the monkeys, find the hidden pond, spot the toucans, and listen for the loud squawks of the vibrant multicolored lapas. always walk with your camera. take great photos and then blast those moments into the digital world via our free wifi.
we recently finalized the purchase of 235 hectares or almost 600 acres of primary rain forest on the Osa Peninsula. we have finally become carbon neutral, a long time family, and business goal. Guests can now hike and/or camp in town, the rainforest, or on the beach, so ask about excursion options by contacting us through this site or at check-in.
